The School Day
The school day starts at 9.00am. A teacher will be outside from 8.50am each day. The school can take no responsibility for children who arrive before this time unless they are attending Breakfast Club or another official school club. Children arriving after this time will need to be taken to the main office by a parent to register their dinner choice, and they will be recorded as late.
We are lucky in Jurby that many of our children are able to walk to school or to cycle; however we do ask parents to make sure that their children wear helmets when cycling and are accompanied by an adult when in Reception to Year 2. We have cycle storage available at the front of the school.
The school runs a Breakfast Club every day at a cost of 80p a day. Children are provided with a selection of foods to choose from, and when they have finished eating are free to play until 8.50, when they go outside before school starts. If you would like your child to attend, please let the office know. Normal school behaviour is expected and children who do not adhere to this will no longer be able to use the facility. Please note: Children who are attending breakfast club should arrive no earlier than 8.10 and no later than 8.30.
